Question 1

Is LumaPrep actually free?

Accepted Answer

Yes: 5 full-length practice tests with unlimited retakes, all practice questions with step-by-step explanations, the built-in calculator and timer, and the full Mistake Review system are free with no time limit. Premium adds deeper explanations for students who want to go further.

Question 2

What do I get with Premium?

Accepted Answer

Premium unlocks wrong-answer analysis, alternative solving methods, and expert tips on every question.

Question 3

Can I cancel Premium anytime?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Cancel anytime from your account settings; you'll keep Premium access through the end of your current billing period, then drop back to the free tier automatically.

Question 4

Do I need a College Board or Bluebook account to use LumaPrep?

Accepted Answer

No — sign up with just a Google account. You'll still register for the actual SAT through College Board separately when you're ready to take it.

Question 5

How is LumaPrep different from Khan Academy's SAT prep?

Accepted Answer

Khan Academy's official SAT practice is free and excellent for lesson-based learning. LumaPrep is built to complement it: every question uses a consistent Problem → Steps → Answer → Quick Check format, and Mistake Review automatically resurfaces every question you've gotten wrong so you can retest until it's mastered.

Question 6

How does Mistake Review work?

Accepted Answer

Every question you answer incorrectly is saved automatically. Mistake Review lets you retest just those questions in a focused session, instead of redoing an entire practice test to work on the handful of skills actually tripping you up.

Question 7

Does LumaPrep help with the PSAT too?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The PSAT and SAT test overlapping skills and share the same digital format, so LumaPrep's question bank is legitimate prep for both, even though the full-length practice tests are built around the SAT specifically.

Question 8

How long should I study for the SAT?

Accepted Answer

It depends on your starting point and target score, but most students see meaningful improvement with 6–10 weeks of consistent practice — a few focused sessions a week beats one long cram session. Take a full practice test first to see where you're starting from.

Question 9

Is my payment information secure?

Accepted Answer

Payments are processed through Gumroad — LumaPrep never sees or stores your card details directly.

Question 10

Is my progress saved if I switch devices?

Accepted Answer

Yes, your account and progress sync automatically across devices as long as you're signed in.
